Dance Maker


b. 1986, HK.

Ania Straczynska - dance artist based in London. Originally from Poland. She graduated Academy of Music with a Choreography and Dance Techniques degree. After years of performing with a variety of companies and independent artists, in 2013 she started to focus on creating her own work. She is also Artistic Member of Chisenhale Dance Space.

Her works have been has been presented in the UK, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Credits include Agenda Festival, Footprints Festival at Roehampton University and Resolution 2017 at The Place. When choreographing, Ania works using contemporary dance language combined with dance theatre where musicality is a core. Ania's mission as an artist is to create works which can exercise audiences' perceptions and give a potential to experience life more fully. She enjoys teaching students of different ages and abilities pushing their creativity through dance. Find out more in Teaching

Ania's exprience does not only lie in choreography and teaching. She graduated FIELD- Future Innovators East London Dance programme in 2016. Later, she was Assitant Producer for the Sound Dance Walk within Big Dance in collaboration with Hannah Meraki, Intern for Hofesh Shechter Company, and Co-producer for MCDC. Currently she works as Marketing and Education Assistant at Chisenhale Dance Space.
